Our God longs to revive that that's damaged. Fractured relationships. Hurting households. Divided church buildings. No scenario is past His grace. And so much surprising of all? He chooses to exploit damaged humans to heal damaged occasions. The booklet of two Samuel is a striking testimony to this fact.

Kein Auszug ohne Einzug – erst mit dem Eisodus in das verheißene Land kommt der Exodus aus Ägypten an sein Ziel. Pickett explores how Paul appealed to the dying of Jesus within the Corinthian correspondence so as to advertise a group ethos and ethic in keeping with the beliefs and values it symbolized. Yes, God has taken care of the ultimate consequence of sin, eternal separation from Him in hell through Christ’s payment for sin on the cross. But we will still suffer the consequences of our sin in this life in various ways. The apostle Paul says, “A man reaps what he sows” (Gal. 6:7 NIV). We see this truth play out in David’s life as God outlines the consequences for his sin. First, God says to David, “The sword will never depart from your house” (2 Sam. 12:10 NIV). Throughout David’s life there is constant death and strife within his family.
