It will be more enlightening, and quite possibly more productive, to explore frameworks for policy assessment and error control that embrace both sets of legitimate justice interests and incorporate the errors that correspond to each.
What is common to all is that much has been proposed to reduce them. They are not likely to be eliminated, as I have noted, but some interventions are bound to be much more effective than others.
